Certification & Testing
As a manufacturer of ultra-clean water systems for the home, it is very important to have independent, third party, industry recognized laboratories test and certify our products. Many manufacturers make contaminant and reduction claims that have not been independently tested and validated.

The Sylvan Source M-600 is currently one of only two products to have been tested and certified to the NSF/ANSI 62 standard.

Sylvan Source will continue to work with third party companies and laboratories to validate additional performance and reduction claims.

NSF
The Sylvan Source M-600 has been certified to the NSF/ANSI 62 Standard for Distillation for the specific performance claims listed on the Sylvan Source product data sheet.   NSF International, an independent, nonprofit world leader in standards development and product certification, conducts rigorous testing for contaminant reduction, product structural integrity and material extraction.   Only those products that consistently demonstrate high quality and meet stated performance claims earn the highly regarded NSF/ANSI Standard 62 certification.
The Sylvan Source M-600 is currently one of only two home drinking water treatment systems to achieve this designation.

California Department of Public Health - Pending
In California, residential water treatment devices making health claims or contaminant reduction claims must be certified by the state.   The California Department of Public Health is responsible for ensuring that water treatment devices sold for purifying water meet the standards set by the state government and fulfill their claims of effectiveness.

Massachusetts Certification
The Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs has approved the M-600 for sale in that state. The Massachusetts Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters approves products for use in public and private water supply systems. As with the state of California, water treatment devices for sale in Massachusetts must be approved by the state prior to being sold.

Wisconsin State Certification
The Safety and Building Division of the Wisconsin Department of Commerce has approved the M-600 for sale and installation in homes. Residential water treatment devices making health claims or contaminant reduction claims must be certified by the state. The Safety and Buildings Division’s charter is to protect the health, safety and welfare of people in constructed environments in Wisconsin and, as such, are responsible for making sure that water treatment devices sold to residential homes meet the standard set by the state and fulfill their claims of effectiveness.

UL
Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL), an independent not-for-profit safety certification organization, certified the M-600 for product safety standards both in the US and Canada.
